The GirlsUP team is a group of dedicated educators, mentors, and professionals united by a shared mission: helping girls look the world straight in the eye.

Annie Kiyonaga · Director of Curriculum
Annie is a writer, educator, and researcher. She studied English and Art History at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead-Cain scholar, and received a Master’s Degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. She has worked as a teacher, curriculum developer, research assistant, and writer. Annie is a proud GirlsUP alum.

Jill Murray · Director of Communications
Jill is a communications leader with over six years of experience at Teneo in the Strategy and Communications Advisory group, where she advises global organizations on corporate communications, media relations, brand positioning, and reputation management. She has worked across sectors, including consumer retail, technology, and non-profits, helping leaders shape narratives that inspire trust, elevate voices, and build lasting impact.
A proud GirlsUP alum from the organization’s inaugural class in 2008, Jill is passionate about the power of storytelling as a tool for advocacy and empowerment and is excited to channel her expertise into amplifying GirlsUP’s mission and reaching future generations of GirlsUP girls. Jill holds a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Psychology from Columbia University.

Christine Milne · Teen Board Facilitator
Christine Milne is a lifetime and experienced educator and mother of two. Christine is currently the Assistant Principal at Blessed Sacrament School and a certified Reading Specialist. Christine holds a degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. She has served as a GirlsUP Summer Camp Facilitator since 2017 and has served as our Junior Teen Board Director since 2022.
