Teen Board

Ages 14–18

The GirlsUP Teen Board helps girls grow as thinkers, advocates, and leaders through peer discussion, community leadership events, and opportunities with partnership organizations that bring GirlsUP values to life.

Teen Board membership is open to GirlsUP Girls who have participated in two or more GirlsUP Middle School programs.

About the Teen Board

Through the GirlsUP Teen Advisory Board, girls continue to be inspired to live an examined life throughout high school and beyond. The Teen Board gives members the opportunity to shape GirlsUP content and community through mentorship, service, and civic engagement. From leading “What I Wish I Knew in Middle School” panels to participating in community service projects, members apply the values of GirlsUP in a real-world settings.

  • Participate in debate games and leadership panels
  • Lead “What I Wish I Knew in Middle School” sessions for younger girls
  • Serve the community by supporting women at DC domestic violence shelters, senior residents at Kensington Modena Reserve, and incarcerated youth through Free Minds Book Club.
  • Mentor younger GirlsUP participants during summer programs
  • Represent GirlsUP as ambassadors and role models
  • Broaden your perspective by participating in formative programs and opportunities with exciting mission-aligned partners.
